Snug Plug n Play Kids Headphones

Snug and Play Headphones are designed specifically with kids in mind.  The adjustable headband is soft and makes the perfect fit.  The ear cushions are comfortable and protect the ears.  The cable is thick and connected to only one side of the headphones.  This is perfect for my son because I hated when he would use our ear buds and have that skinny cord around his neck.

My husband and I are constantly yelling "Aiden turn the volume down!"  With these headphones we can not hear any sound coming from our sons electronics.  The sound is great but yet, we have a quit atmosphere and do not have to listen to his games and videos anymore.

Features:
  • 40mm driver units
  • compatible with any 3.5mm jack
  • 1.2m length cord
  • lightweight, durable construction
You can purchase these headphones at amazon.com and they come in four different colors: blue, red, pink and purple.

Insect Excavation Kit Review

Insect Excavation Kit

My 6 year old son, Aiden, and I had so much fun with this Insect Excavation kit.  He is already asking to do it again. This was the perfect week to try out the kit.  He had off school on Presidents Day and we had Mother/Son time.  Of course, he has been asking to play with this since it came in the mail.  So, here is the fun that ensued!

The directions say to lay out some news paper underneath the giant green beetle and start digging with the tools provided.  Aiden did not wait one second, he started scraping and digging away.  At, first you have to scrape away the green paint but, then it is easier going once that is gone.  You can use either side of the tool to dig or scrape.  One side is smooth, like a screw driver, the other side is more ridged, like a saw.

My son was really into this and said he was gonna do it all himself.  He had fun digging away and making a mess.

Soon after, we found our first insect!  It was a spider.  Aiden had fun using the brush to help clean off the spider and then using the magnifying glass to get a better look.

After finding his first insect he wanted to hurry up and find the rest so, of course, I has recruited to dig up the rest.  There were 2 more insects to find and I went to town with dirt flying and my son cheering me on.  Then we dug up a beetle and a scorpion.
Each insect is preserved in acrylic so you are not really touching the creepy crawlies.  The kit comes with a digging tool, brush and magnifying glass as well as a 12 page info guide about insects and an activity booklet.  All my son cared about is the bugs but, again he is only 6 and this is recommend for kids 6 to 12.

This was a lot of fun for both me and my son.  Now he wants to excavate more things and I do too!

Sun'n'Fun Broad Spectrum SPF30 Sunscreen for Kids Review

 Chocolate Scented Sunscreen for Kids

What's exciting about this sunscreen? . . . It smells like chocolate!  It really does.  I put it on my son and had him smell it and he said " Yum, chocolate!"  It's not strong and if you enjoy the scent you might as well you this sunscreen too.

I don't know about you but, putting sunscreen on a wiggly kid is not fun for me.  I don't like some natural sunscreens that go on all white, barley rub in and leave your kid all stark white.  This sunscreen rubbed in nicely and did not leave him all white.  He just smelled like chocolate.

The lotion is water resistant and toxin free, which is great when you are putting it on your child's skin.  It is safe enough to put on a baby's skin and protects from UVA and UVB sun rays.  It also helps to care for dry skin and eczema due to it's hydrating and soothing properties.

If you are interested in the ingredients here is what is put into the sunscreen to make it so great.   Organic Marshmallow, Grapeseed and Raspberry rich with vitamin C and antioxidants fights skin damage and cellular oxidation, caused by excessive free radical activity.  It also contains excellent anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties. Green tea, thought to be 200 times more powerful than vitamin E for neutralizing free radicals and has a protective role to play here as well.  Kelp and Cucumber contain abundant non-essential and essential amino acids and are highly moisturizing, soothing and hydrating.  Rosehip oil, rich in Omega-3,6 and 9 Fatty Acids, Vitamins C, E, and Lycopene promotes healing and nourishing, leaving skin glowing and healthy looking.  Tamanu oil contributes to the formula with it's strong anti-inflammatory properties and helps with dry skin and eczema.
