This is a great kitchen scale. It is slim light and does not take up a lot of kitchen space. Some diets require you to weight your food and that was a problem for me because I did not have a kitchen scale. I avoided getting one because I thought it would take up too much room on the counter top. With this scale I can put it away and it does not take up much room anywhere in the kitchen. On a side note Gurin recommends that you take the batteries out of you are not going to be using the scale for a long time.
